Fall Festivals and Happenings

Fall is officially here (can't your feel it?!) and there are a variety of fall happenings for friends and families alike.

 

 

 

GREAT MISSISSIPPI RIVER BALLOON RACE - NATCHEZ

October 19-21

Natchez's own one-of-a-kind event, the Great Mississippi River Balloon Race! Mirroring the lengthy history of the city, festival grounds are located at Rosalie Mansion's high bluffs above the Mississippi River. Live, world-class musical entertainment keeps feet moving while hot air balloons drift silently overhead. In addition to the breathtaking location, a carnival and Arts and Crafts market make it one of the most family-friendly events in the state.

 

MCCLAIN PUMPKIN PATCH - BRANDON

October 19 - November 1

Admission fees are $5 for entry, $5 pick your own pumpkin, $5 camel ride (Weekends Only) and $5 pony ride (weekends only). Bring your family and enjoy the pumpkin patch activities such as a hay maze, hay slide, horseshoes, sack races, corn hole, pumpkin tic-tac-toe, pumpkin checkers and a photo prop area.

 

HARVEST FESTIVAL AT DOGWOOD - FLOWOOD

October 20 (Rain Date: October 21)

A free, fun and festive event for the entire family! Event taking place behind McAlister’s Deli. There will be free pumpkins for the kids, harvest games with prizes, refreshments, bounce house, kettle corn and fresh fried pork skins, crafter booths and face painting!

 

PARK AFTER DARK - JACKSON

October 26

Enjoy spooky science and family fun at the annual Park after Dark event. The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science (MMNS) has partnered with the Mississippi Children’s Museum (MCM) and LeFleur’s Bluff State Park to host Park after Dark. At this spook-tacular event, you can create creepy crawly crafts, go trick-or-treating through both museums, and enjoy the evening’s activities while wearing your costumes. One night, one ticket, two museums! MCM, MMNS and LeFleur’s Bluff State Park seek to provide families with a safe and fun environment to celebrate fall festivities.

 

FAM FRIDAY AT HIGHLAND VILLAGE - JACKSON

October 26

Grab your family and head out for a fun, fall night of Trick-or-Treating throughout The Village! There will be face painting, pumpkin decorating and memory making around every corner! Costumes are strongly encouraged. And furbabies are more than welcome. 

 

BOO AT THE ZOO - JACKSON

October 26

Included with regular admission ($10.25 adults over 13, $7.25 ages 2-12), zoo members only $3, under 2 is free, so all ages can enjoy a night-lighted zoo with trick or treating candy stops, bounce houses, Discovery Ambassador animal encounters, games and activities, music, and special guest Inky the clown!
Food and novelty vendors, plus spooky Livingston Train and Creepy Endangered Carousel Rides are also available for purchase.

 

HAUNTED BREWERY TOURS AT LUCKY TOWN - JACKSON

October 26 

Put on your best costume and come out to your local brewery! We will have a costume contest, halloween candy pairings, Depraved Trivia and even especially evil brewery tours! Doors open at 4, costume contest will be at 9:30.

 

HALLOWEEN MOVIE NIGHT AT THE DISTRICT - JACKSON

October 26

Put on your costume and go to the Halloween Movie Night in The District! We'll be showing a Halloween Classic, "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" on The District Green and "creeping it real" with face painting, games and more tricks and treats throughout The District. This family event is free and open to the public.

 

NEW SUMMIT SCHOOL'S FALL FESTIVAL - JACKSON

OCTOBER 26

Activities include games, jump house, rock wall, food, outdoor movie, costume contest and much more! Wristbands are $15 and adult meal tickets are $5. Additional fees required for certain activites. Wristbands and tickets are available for purchase at the New Summit School Campus Store.

 

HALLOWEEN IN THE 'PARK - RIDGELAND

October 27

Have a spooky good time with Northpark and Parents & Kids Magazine at Halloween in the 'Park! We've got activities around the property, trick-or-treating with the stores and a costume parade at Center Court!

 

HALLOWEEN FIT FEST FRENZY AT THE OUTLETS OF MISSISSIPPI - PEARL

October 27

The Outlets of Mississippi invites all families to come out and enjoy an afternoon of Halloween fun, costumes, trunk-or-treat, tons of games and obstacle courses and so much more! So grab the kids and invite your friends... it's going to be a spooktacular time! Don't forget to wear your favorite costume!

 

TREAT STREET AT THE TOWNSHIP - RIDGELAND

October 27

Treat Street is a family-friendly, fun Trick-or-Treating event at The Township. Make your way from one end of The Township to the other, visiting each participating business. (Look for the Treat Street signs in the window) You'll be delighted by the costumes and candy. And some merchants are offering some "sweet" discounts.

*Please note - this does not include The Township residential area.

 

MCCLAIN LODGE SPOOKTACULAR - BRANDON

October 27

McClain Lodge hosts their first annual Spooktacular! Festivities include dinner, haunted hall, kids games, candy, 
costume contests, $5 hayrides and s’mores at the bonfire. Admission is $10 for children 3-12 and $20 for adults.

 

BOOS AND BOOZE AT BARRELHOUSE - FONDREN

October 31

Celebrate Halloween with the Barrelhouse Halloween Party on Wednesday, October 31! We will have live music from Wyatt Edmondson and Blake Brock from 7:30-10:00 pm, and be sure to dress in costume, winner will get FREE Tuna Nachos for a year! Oh, and most importantly, specialty Halloween cocktails will be flowing all night. So come thirsty, friends.
